About the Book
This book is a word-by-word commentary on the most famous and most quoted verse in the Bible. John 3:16 has been translated into more than 1100 languages. The Gideon Bible (which is found in most hotel rooms) has it printed in its preface in “26 of the important world languages which are understood by three-quarters of the earth’s population.”
Using biblical hermeneutics and contextual juxtaposition, I will show how the Bible gives its own interpretation of John 3:16 as well as any other verse in the Bible. No doctrinal support outside the Bible is used. The book does not take something elementary and make it sophisticated—quite the contrary. It shows that the reason this verse became the best known from the Bible is because anyone with the correct understanding of it will also understand all true doctrines of the Bible. So the book takes what has been complicated over the years and presents it in the Bible’s original, simplistic form to expose heretical teachings about the Bible.
Christians will find excellent support for foundational principles but will be challenged in much traditional thinking. In addition, skeptics (as well as Christians) will see that consistency does exist between the Bible and the life of the one who truly follows it.
